Obesity The Heart Of The Matter!
Obesity affects every aspect of a people's lives, from health to relationships.
Once considered a problem only in high-income countries, overweight and obesity are now dramatically on the rise in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in urban settings.
Worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975.
The rise of childhood obesity has placed the health of an entire generation at risk.
We believe in taking action with urgency to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the lives of others.
Action Is The Antidote To Despair
Obese patients are at an increased risk for developing many medical problems, including insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, stroke, sleep apnoea, gallbladder disease, hyperuricemia and gout, and osteoarthritis. Certain cancers are also associated with obesity, including colorectal and prostate cancer in men and endometrial, breast, and gallbladder cancer in women. Excess body weight is also associated with substantial increases in mortality from all causes for example cardiovascular disease.
